Inquiries & Services

Original Artwork

Each image is an experience that I wish to share. My hope is that they will become part of the world that you live in - providing atmosphere, provoking imagination, memories or dreams, and a reminder of the tender way that beauty treats our hearts.

Beginning with capturing the images in camera, I do each step of the process myself, including printing. Each image is a journey in itself, and a labor of love.

I hand work most of the images with pastels and pencils, oils, or acrylic paints. I have a fascination and respect for the information of the photographic image. Yet, I feel that by answering my desire to add the spirit of hand-work, it becomes a more full expression. Some are painted just a little, others quite thoroughly.

I do not number editions of my images, because I seldom do more than a few of any size. Often, I only do one. Also, because of the hand-work, they are each one of a kind. I use archival processes and materials to ensure lasting enjoyment of each piece.

Images are available as finished prints in a variety of sizes, ready for matting and framing, matted, or mounted onto solid panels or finger jointed hollow wooden box panels.

They are also available on stretched canvas or cloth fabric panels.

Please inquire for price list, more information, and exhibit schedule, or visit our seasonal gallery on Salt Spring Island, in beautiful British Columbia.

Commissioned Artwork

I would love to discuss your vision for the image or images you have in mind for a certain space, if you feel that my style suits the subject you have in mind. I may have images in my collection that we could work with, or be able to travel to photograph specifically for your needs.

Portraiture

I see a wonder, uniqueness and beauty in each individual person, like when looking closely at a flower.  I find a similar, yet separate, artistry exists in the chemistry of couples, or families.

In a portrait session, I take time. It is important to me that, in the end, we have experienced the collaboration necessary to result in an image or images that you feel represent you authentically, and with the style and sensitivity for which you chose me.

I look for the essence of you, and honor the trust that is given to me to find it.I work with entirely with natural light, on location or in your home.

Assignment/Photo-Essay

I have always felt that a picture truly does have the power to speak a thousand words. I enjoy the intimate learning experience of photographing to tell the story of a person, place or event, and I believe in the lasting impact of a collection of images.
